Property in more detail
Accommodation
There is ample car parking at the front of the property.The actual house is set back from the country road, and a fair size garden with various trees is at the front of the house.
Our renovated hunting lodge is arranged over one floor.
As you enter the house from the front door into the hall way, both bedrooms are situated to the left of the property.The family bedroom is spacious and includes a double bed and bunk beds. There is ample wardrobe and storage space.Next door to the family room is the twin bedded room; again there is ample storage space.
The largest room is situated next through the hallway in the heart of the property. Here you will find a large family kitchen dining room.
The kitchen has been recently fitted and comes with modern appliances.
There is a large family dinning table, with enough seating for 8 people.
In the corner of the room there is a beautiful traditional tiled heater.
The bathroom is completely tiled from floor to ceiling and consists of a sink unit, mirrow with light, WC and a bath with an overhead shower.
At the end of the house is the lounge area.This area consists of a sofa and chairs, TV area and allows access to the garden / patio area.
The sofa can be used as a bed.
There is a small balcony leading from the lounge area with seating.
Stairs lead down from here to the patio area, where you will find ample seating and a brick built BBQ.
From the patio area you can look down the garden to the valley below.
The garden slopes downwards and consists of over 100 fruit trees such as apples, pears, plums and some of the best cherries I have ever tasted.
You will also find figs, eating grapes, wine grapes, walnuts and plenty of berries in the garden. Pick and eat what you like!
Built onto the house but accessible from the garden / patio area is a games room. Here we have put a table tennis table, air hockey table and darts board.
There are also toys and games for you and your family to enjoy
Location
Fokovci house is situated in the heart of the Goricko nature park in the small village of Fokovci, north east Slovenia.The surrounding area consists of rolling hills, apple farms, vine yards and beautiful traditional Prekmurje farm houses and *Vikend houses
*A lot of Slovene people have second homes known as ‘Vikend Hisa’ or weekend houses. Slovenes that live mainly in the towns will come to their ‘Vikends’ at the weekend to relax, spend time with their families, and most probably attend to their Vines and vegetables.
The journey by car to the town of Murska Sobota takes around 20 minutes, and the thermal spa at Moravske Toplice approx. 15 minutes.
In the next village called ‘Selo’ you will find the famous chapel of St Nicholas called the ‘Rotunda’, a superb Romanesque rotunda built in the mid-13th century.
Also located in the village of Selo is one of the regions best restaurants named ‘K Rotundi’. Here you will be able to sample a wide choice of Prekmurje specialities such as game, fish, and goat and of course the famous ‘bograc’.
Fokovci house is a great base to stay to explore the Slovenian countryside. It is also a beautiful place to stay in to relax, to enjoy the views of the countryside and of course if offers peace and quiet.

Oil fired central heating. Bed linen, duvets and towels. Patio BBQ area with Chimney BBQ. Patio table with chairs and sun loungers. Cool box; picnic hamper.
Included for children: plastic crockery and cutlery; cots with bedding; high chairs; bouncy chair; bottle steriliser and warmer. Play equipment outside and lots of space to run around.
Smoke alarms fitted and stair gates available.
Bicycles
We have purchased six bicycles for our Fokovci cottage that are free to use by our guests.
There is 1 x large men’s bike, 1 x ladies bike, 3 x medium mountain bikes and a small bike for children 6+
Locks and cycle helmets are also provided, as well as a pump and tools to make height adjustments.
We also have baby seats that can be attached.
* We are not responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur when using our bicycles. Bicycle's are borrowed from us at entirely the guests risk.
